Brief Description

Full Description: This course is designed to provide training in the operation of the patrol rifle. Course content
includes instruction in the role of the patrol rifle, rifle manipulation skills, marksmanship fundamentals, zero procedures, nomenclature, and cleaning.

Students will be required to pass a live fire qualification, and must demonstrate the ability to field strip, clean, lubricate, re-assemble, and perform a function check on their rifle.

There will be one low light session scheduled during the training. Variable times may be necessary during the week due to inclement weather.

Resources Required: Students are required to bring an agency approved patrol rifle chambered in .223 or 5.56mm, 3 rifle magazines, an agency approved handgun, 3 handgun magazines and pouches, and holster.

Each student is required to bring eye and hearing protection that is conducive to rifle training and a baseball cap. Body armor is required for the course. A quality flashlight and cleaning kit is needed as well.
